Session 01 - Tell me your name 3 times.
Lyna invites Derae to begin. “Let’s start,” she says warmly, her voice carrying a soft calm.
“Because we don’t know each other, I’d like you to say your full name three times. For me, when you say your full name with your voice, it carries an energetic frequency that’s uniquely you. It helps me tune in to you. Once I have that, I’ll ask for your permission to proceed. Afterward, I’ll take a moment to connect.”
Lyna explains her method with a serene professionalism, “Once I’m connected, I call your soul forward. Your soul offers a higher perspective of what’s going on. It often shows up symbolically, something you’re currently working through, an aspect of yourself you’re ready to release, or something that needs attention. We’ll talk to your soul for a bit, gather what information we can. I’ll relay everything I see, though at first, I might not fully understand the symbols. It’s a dialogue between you, me, and spirit, a three-way conversation.”
Derae listens intently, his curiosity apparent.
Lyna continues, “Afterward, I’ll do what I call a body scan. I imagine your body between my hands and use muscle testing and hand movements to connect. I’ll focus on your seven main chakras first, asking, ‘Where in your body are you holding energy that’s preventing you from moving forward?’ or ‘Where is there stagnant energy?’ My goal is to identify what’s blocking you. It could be an emotion, a memory, or simply something that needs to be acknowledged. Once we understand what’s there, we’ll ask how to move through it. What steps can be taken to integrate and release?”
Derae nods thoughtfully. “So, it’s about figuring out how to integrate that understanding into life?”
“Exactly,” Lyna affirms. “Sometimes it involves inner child work, shadow work, belief clearing, or calling in past loved ones, spirit guides, or ancestors. Other times, it’s simply about talking it through. We’ll do whatever feels right in the moment. Like you mentioned in your email about ancestral stuff, that could come through as well. I like to use the body as a gauge, returning to check if the energy has shifted. We keep working at it until what’s ready to move has moved. Healing is a process, though. Even when something clears today, it doesn’t mean it’s forever gone. It’s often just one layer, there’s always another layer to explore.”
Derae reflects for a moment. “I think healing happens until we die. It’s not discouraging, it’s just the nature of it.”
Lyna smiles softly. “True. Healing often feels like peeling an endless onion. One layer after another. But it’s not a bad thing. It means growth.”
Derae offers his perspective. “I don’t think we ever erase experiences, especially traumas. We can’t remove what happened, but we can change our perspective on it. And maybe with that shift, the energy tied to it changes too.”
Her eyes light up in agreement. “I love that explanation. It’s about transforming our perspective and reclaiming power, not just over our experiences, but over what has been passed down to us, whether through ancestors, past lives, or even higher realms. These things arise to teach us, to give us wisdom and understanding. They’re here to help us integrate, not to punish.”
Derae’s expression softens, and he seems to settle deeper into the process. The connection between him and Lyna feels steadier now, as though they’re embarking on a shared journey toward understanding and healing.
Derae shared his thoughts, his tone thoughtful and reflective. “We can learn, but forget… I think, whatever the experience is, you never truly forget. But maybe if you change the perspective, that’s something. Sometimes we only look at the negative, the hard parts. But if you shift how you see it, you start to feel the lesson, and it redirects you to look another way. I don’t know. To be honest, when it comes to traumas… I always thought I didn’t have any. But, for example, with ayahuasca…” He paused, as though reliving the experience. “I realized, okay, I carry all this with me. And I was like, ‘Really?’ It hit me… like, wow. I couldn’t believe I held onto all these feelings.”
Lyna listened intently, offering a supportive “Yeah,” encouraging him to continue.
“It was like a second body,” Derae said, his voice weighted with the memory. “Yeah, it was like a second body… carrying all of it. It was a good experience, though heavy… really physical. You feel it so much.” He hesitated, his voice softening, “I think I never cried so much in my life. That night… I was like a little baby, crying and crying. It was both overwhelming and… releasing. I think a lot of grief came out, but I’m sure it wasn’t all of it.”
Lyna nodded, her voice calm and reassuring. “Yeah.”
Derae’s gaze seemed far away as he reflected. “I wonder, is it possible that we carry traumas or things from when we’re too young to remember? Like, as babies… or even younger? These things could be buried deep in the subconscious, and we’d have no idea they’re there.” He paused and continued, a deep sense of curiosity in his tone, “I also read somewhere that we might carry traumas from other lives. But since we don’t remember those lives, we don’t even know what’s there. It’s just… there, buried. We can’t see it, but it affects us. It’s such a complex thing.”
“It is,” Lyna agreed.
“It’s complex,” Derae repeated. “When we try to understand it, it gets messy. You know, the more I try to grasp it, the more tangled it seems.”
Lyna’s response was gentle, designed to soothe the complexity he felt. “The beautiful thing is, we don’t always have to fully remember what it is. Whether it’s from early childhood or a past life, we can still feel the essence of it, acknowledge it, and move through it. We can learn the lessons, even if we don’t know the exact situation. That’s okay, too.”
Her words seemed to resonate with him. “Yeah,” he said, though his tone carried a trace of hesitation. “But for me, I… I need to understand things. If I don’t, it’s hard for me to process. I need to know the how, you know? And when I can’t understand it, it’s difficult to let go. But… Day by day, experience by experience, I guess.”
Lyna let his words settle before speaking again. “Through this process, I might close my eyes or stare off as I connect. If there’s anything you want to ask or if you feel uncomfortable, please interrupt me anytime. Just use your voice. I don’t mind.”
Derae responded, steady and agreeable. “Okay.”
“And during certain parts, like when we do inner child work or shadow work, there will be participation on your end. I might get you to close your eyes, call in your inner child, and I’ll guide you through exactly what I’m seeing,” Lyna explained gently, preparing him for what might come. Her calm and intentional demeanour created a safe space for the journey ahead.
The rhythm of the conversation began to settle into a gentle flow. Lyna continued with ease, outlining how the session would unfold. “We’ll take things step by step. I’ll be asking what the next step is or what else we can learn here, and I’ll keep relaying the information as it comes.”
Derae nodded, considering her words. “So, it almost works automatically? It just… flows?”
“Yeah,” Lyna replied, her tone calm and grounded.
“Okay,” Derae said simply, the hint of trust already forming in his voice.
“Yeah, we just wait for the next step,” Lyna reaffirmed. “That’s exactly how it works.” She gave him a moment before continuing, “Do you have any questions? About the session or… anything else?”
Derae shook his head slightly and gave her a reassuring smile. “No, no. I have an open mind going into this. If I booked this session with you, it’s because I trust you. So, I’ll just follow along. It’s that simple.”
Lyna’s expression softened. “I appreciate that,” she said quietly.
Lyna shifted the conversation gently, “What would you like your intention to be today for the session?”
Derae considered this thoughtfully. “I can’t really specify just one intention. I think my general intention is to get whatever information I need or am ready to receive. I don’t feel like ‘okay, I have to go deep into this specific thing.’ All aspects feel equally important to me, even if some might be slightly more significant than others. I’m trying to understand it all a bit better.”
“I understand,” Lyna responded. “So maybe we can frame it as: what is the next layer of healing that you’re ready to move through?”
“Yes, that works,” Derae nodded. “It’s like with ayahuasca, before the session starts, you have to set an intention mentally. But I’m always thinking, ‘okay, maybe I’ll ask about this, but something else might come up.’ So, I stay open. Life brought me here, so I’m ready to receive whatever comes, whether it’s good or… less good. I must be ready to take it all.”
Lyna leaned forward slightly; her voice gentle but firm. “You know how you mentioned that you could set one intention, but other information might come through? That’s possible, but don’t let that stop you from setting a specific intention. We can never know how things are connected. Setting a parameter with an intention isn’t limiting, it helps focus the energy more clearly. Even if we set an intention about your career and end up discussing childhood experiences, it doesn’t mean the career intention was wrong or set aside. It might mean that addressing those childhood elements is necessary for gaining the career clarity you’re seeking. But yes, we can absolutely proceed with you being open to whatever you need to hear right now.”
“Yeah, I usually keep it more general,” Derae explained, his tone thoughtful. After a moment’s consideration, he added, “But if I really had to choose from everything we discussed… relationships are important, I think that’s significant for me.”
“Okay,” Lyna acknowledged softly.
“Ancestors too, in a certain way,” Derae added.
Lyna nodded, her energy attuning to his words. “Well, we can work with that. I’m already picking up what you’re putting down. We don’t need exact wording.” She paused briefly before continuing, “I’ll need you to say your name three times for me.”
“Okay,” Derae took a breath. ” Derae… Derae… Derae.”
“And do I have your permission to connect with your energy, Derae?” Lyna asked formally.
“You have my permission to connect with my energy, Lyna,” he responded with equal formality.
After a moment of silence, Lyna’s expression shifted with curiosity. “Okay, interesting. The way your soul is showing up… it’s almost like the quintessential African safari, like that hat in your…” she paused, searching for the right words. “The energy that’s coming in is you hunting.”
“Really?” Derae responded, surprised. “I love animals…”
“No, it’s not hunting animals,” Lyna quickly clarified. “It’s this energy of you on the hunt. And I wouldn’t say ‘on the prowl’, that’s not the right word. It’s about being the hunter, where there’s this sensation of ‘I have the dominance, I have the power, and I’m out looking for something I can take.’ And the feeling coming in with that…” She paused, carefully choosing her words. “You know how we were talking about trying to grasp all these ideas, get this information, go through all these layers? It’s like you’re approaching it from a position of ‘I am here, and what I’m searching for is less than me.’ So, it’s like, how can I go into my psyche? How can I go into my ancestors? Where can I go and find that thing that is… yeah, less than me?” She hesitated. “Does that make sense or resonate at all?”
“No,” Derae responded simply, his tone indicating this interpretation didn’t align with his experience.
The energy in the room shifted slightly as they encountered this first disconnect, setting the stage for deeper exploration and understanding.
“Okay, let’s keep going,” Lyna said gently.
“At least consciously, I’m really humble,” Derae protested softly. “I don’t have that at all.”
Lyna’s voice remained steady. “Often what happens at the very beginning will make more sense at the end. They keep showing me this tactical approach, it’s like when we try to find that one thing holding us back, that one missing puzzle piece, we’re actually separating ourselves from our wholeness, our oneness. It’s not about something outside of you, but there’s this piece that needs…” She paused, refining her interpretation. “Not hunting it down like a hunter would, but fixing it. As if then you can be whole, then you can know, then you can move through life.”
She continued, her words measured. “What they’re suggesting is that every experience is neither good nor bad, as you mentioned at the beginning, it’s merely perception, how we’re using that information. There’s something in your psyche… this idea of a hunt, where there’s this perceived thing you need to fix. Does that make sense?”
“No, I’m not grasping it,” Derae admitted.
Lyna shifted approach. “Okay, let me ask differently. Sitting down to meditate doesn’t feel great to you, does it? You’d rather be up and searching, going out to find answers rather than sitting still and letting them come to you?”
“Oh, yeah, that is more me,” Derae acknowledged, recognition in his voice.
Lyna followed this thread. “Do you find in relationships, not just intimate ones, but any kind, there’s this energy of investigation? When you engage with family, romantic partners, even strangers, do you approach conversations with an awareness that they’re mirroring you, that you can gain insight about yourself?”
“No, I think not consciously,” Derae replied.
“I’m sensing that once you’ve learned what you could from people, there might be a tendency for relationships, maybe not family, but friends or romantic ones, to…”
Derae interrupted, opening up. “Okay, I’m really quite isolated, to be honest. I don’t like being around a lot of people. I prefer being with my dogs than people. I mean, I have friends whose energy I enjoy, and I like conversations, but… my best friends are in Portugal. And sometimes I feel distance growing, we’re not going in the same direction anymore. So yes, I easily grow distant from people. But I’ve never looked at it from that perspective of ‘I have everything’ or ‘what can I win from that person.'”
“No, it wouldn’t be conscious,” Lyna clarified quickly. “It wouldn’t be like ‘I’ve taken all I can from you.’ It’s not malicious, it’s unconscious.”
Derae considered this. “It’s hard for me to make new friendships. I’m a bit closed off that way. I know people are great, and in our essence, we’re all good energy. But here, in this plane… I find it complicated to connect with many people. But the friends I do have, the ones I feel strongly about, my friendship is honest, is pure. I don’t see it that way. At least consciously.”
“Yeah,” Lyna acknowledged softly, recognizing the delicate territory they were exploring.
“I don’t know what’s going on inside,” Derae admitted, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
Lyna shifted gears, her tone thoughtful. “For work, do you do research, something analytical, or similar work?”
“Well, no,” Derae replied. “I work in a corporation, managing a group of people.”
Lyna nodded as a realization struck. “That energy, this ability to analyse and assess, it keeps coming up. On a soul level, in relationships, and even with work. It’s like this supercomputer-like ability, the way you can filter through knowledge, resources, or situations. You can pinpoint what’s working and what’s not, and find a better direction. Does that resonate?”
“In work, maybe,” Derae responded, reflecting. “At work, I am fast at finding solutions to problems. I don’t dwell on them; I focus quickly and find quick resolutions. But in my personal life, it’s different. I get more stuck on the problems. I’m not as quick with solutions there.”
“Maybe you can carry that energy over,” Lyna suggested. “It’s the same energy I was feeling in relationships. It’s like you’ve compartmentalized work, like, ‘this is good, this is easy, I know how to do this.’ But the same approach could be applied to your personal life. It’s almost as if, on some unconscious level, you’ve chosen not to use this problem-solving ability in your life. Like you feel it must be harder, or that there’s some kind of balance to maintain. Does that resonate?”
Derae shook his head lightly. “Consciously, I don’t know. No, I don’t think I do that type of thinking or choosing.”
“No, no,” Lyna clarified, “it’s never conscious. But you have this energy, this supercomputer-like capability. Like, when you meet new people, can you kind of read them quickly?”
“Yeah, yeah,” Derae confirmed. “That’s really fast for me.”
“It’s almost like a superpower,” Lyna said, her tone encouraging.
“Yeah,” Derae agreed. “I can quickly assess, this person is this way, has this type of character.”
“Exactly,” Lyna affirmed. “The same thing you do with problems and solutions at work is how you’re reading people. It’s your intuition at play, and while everyone has intuition, for you, it’s heightened, almost above average. That heightened awareness is your version of the supercomputer. It’s not a bad gift at all.” She smiled thoughtfully.
Lyna paused as if listening to something unseen, then continued. “They’re saying that while it’s much harder to read ourselves or turn that knowing inward, you still have that ability. And here’s what they’re pointing to with relationships. It’s a lot easier to spot problems and solutions in others. You’re able to read people quickly and see what you might gain or learn from them. But that dynamic, of seeing clearly in others, can make it harder to turn that same ability inward toward your own life.”
Her words lingered between them, inviting deeper reflection on how Derae’s natural talents in problem-solving and intuition might be harnessed both professionally and personally.
“Start taking a mental note of when you’re picking up on problems and solutions for other people,” Lyna suggested. “I think it’s your way of using people as a mirror for your own healing journey. It’s easier to read others than it is to read ourselves, not that we can’t, but as an investigator by nature, you’re inclined to go out into the world and pick up these pieces, rather than sitting down and receiving passively. It’s not a bad thing. Don’t feel like you’re doing something wrong by being the investigator. It’s simply your nature.”
“Yeah,” Derae murmured, absorbing her words.
Lyna continued, “We all have strengths and weaknesses, and you’ve found a way to access information that’s beyond the average person’s perception. Acknowledge that and use it. You’re definitely an intuitive person, give yourself more credit.”
Derae hesitated for a moment before confessing, “Yeah, but it’s always hard to know when… I don’t know, even when thoughts come to my mind. I can’t separate what’s intuition and what’s just my logical mind. I can’t tell if I even feel a difference. Maybe I do, but I can’t discern it yet.”
“I think it’s just practice,” Lyna reassured. “If you think you’ve had an intuitive hit, like with a friend, or when you meet someone new and just know, maybe make a note of it, whether on your phone or a sticky note. Put it aside and reflect later. Ask yourself, ‘How does this relate to me? What can I learn from this?’ If you make it a practice, not super rigid or overly critical of yourself, over the next three to six months, you might start noticing some themes. Pay attention to how it feels: Is it a quick sensation in your gut? Do you see flashes in your mind? Does it resonate in your body? It’s about learning to distinguish between your mind running wild and those genuine intuitive hits.”
Derae nodded as understanding began to take root. “Yeah,” he said softly.
“It’s just a muscle,” Lyna explained warmly. “The more you practice, the stronger it gets, and the more you trust it. I also think your desire to go deeper into your own healing is a sign your soul wants to help you unlock this gift at a greater capacity. The more layers we peel back in ourselves, the better we can discern what’s ours and what belongs to others. That clarity deepens your ability to help, whether in your community, in your work, or however you choose to use your skill.”
She looked at him kindly, adding, “That yearning you feel, ‘Show me more, what’s the next layer, I want to move through this’, is your soul waking up more and more to your own gifts.”
“Yeah,” Derae murmured again, a quiet recognition settling over him.
In that moment, the path to understanding his intuition became a little clearer, the journey a little more intentional. This was no longer just about navigating relationships or solving problems, it was about embracing the full spectrum of his potential, trusting his inner compass, and stepping further into the person he was meant to be.
“So beautiful,” Lyna whispered, smiling. “What about your dreams? Do you ever receive information in your dreams, or have you tried working with them?”
“Rarely,” Derae replied thoughtfully. “Very rarely do I remember my dreams. But when I do, they’re just… completely absurd. I mean, it’s so rare, maybe two or three dreams a year at most. And when I do remember, I can never take anything from them. They’re just… completely out there, you know?”
Lyna nodded in understanding. “Dreams can be a nice gateway into intuition or self-discovery, but it’s not for everyone. If you’re interested, you can set the intention to remember your dreams more often. When you wake up, even if you only recall a feeling or a quick flash, try to write it down. Over time, you train your brain to remember more. But no pressure, it’s just an option.”
She paused, tuning into the energy of the moment. “Let me ask your soul if there’s anything else there.”
She inhaled deeply before continuing. “Now, you’re showing up in a seated position versus out searching, but there’s still so much movement around you. This ties into acknowledging this yearning within yourself. Once you acknowledge it more consciously, you can start calling these discoveries in rather than needing to search for them. Does that make sense?”
“Yeah,” Derae replied, intrigued. “How can I call them?”
Lyna’s voice softened with patience as she explained. “On an energetic, soul level, it’s as simple as setting an intention. Once we have awareness and acknowledgement, we open the door to the next step. You could say something like, ‘I’m ready to call in my next lesson’ or ‘I’m ready to accept and go deeper into my gifts’ The wording doesn’t matter; it’s the intention. Then just notice what comes up.”
She paused, carefully choosing her next words. “What arises might not always be easy, it could show up as triggers. Triggers are hard because they challenge us, but they’re also the greatest gateways to self-discovery. They’re the ego’s way of trying to keep you small, contained, not growing. But if you can move through those triggers, face what’s uncomfortable, you’ll find access to so much more.”
Derae listened intently as she continued. “So, when you call in this deeper connection to your gifts, be open to how it shows up. It could be triggers, new people entering your life, new relationships, sudden insights, synchronicities, there are countless ways. Don’t box yourself in by expecting it to look or feel a certain way. Be open to whatever form it takes.”
She paused again, allowing him a moment to process. “And that’s why they’re showing me the sticky notes. You might not understand how those lessons or messages are coming through at first. But if you jot them down, even if they seem random or unclear, you’ll be able to look back later and see how those pieces fit together. Keeping a diary or journal can help too. It’s always easier to reflect in hindsight and notice the patterns or themes.”
Derae nodded slightly, the wheels of understanding beginning to turn. What Lyna described felt both practical and abstract, a delicate balance of setting intention and releasing control. This was the beginning of a new way of being for Derae: learning to trust the unseen, embracing the messiness of triggers, and patiently decoding the messages his soul was already sending to guide him forward.
“Yeah,” Derae murmured quietly, the wheels in his mind continuing to turn.
“Is that making sense?” Lyna asked gently.
“Yeah,” he replied again, his voice soft but affirmative.
“Okay,” she said with encouragement. “Let’s ask the soul if there’s anything else. Do you find, by nature, that people are kind of attracted to you? Not necessarily romantically, but just in general, like you said, you prefer to be alone. But do you notice people being drawn to your energy?”
“I don’t know,” Derae answered, thoughtful. “Yeah, some people, yes. Some people, no. I don’t know. I never really gave it much thought.”
Lyna nodded knowingly. “Why I asked is because I’m getting this sense that the more you go inwards on your journey, the people around you are going to feel that. They’ll be drawn to the clarity you’re finding in yourself because it’s the clarity they’re also seeking. So maybe stay open to sharing your journey, even in something small, like on your social media. Not in a way that says, ‘I know everything,’ but in a way that says, ‘This is my path, and I’m sharing it because it might resonate with someone else.’ There’s this natural magnetism about you that feels like it will only grow stronger as you go deeper into this work.”
Derae considered this. “It’s possible,” he admitted tentatively.
“Time will tell,” Lyna said with a smile.
“Yeah,” Derae muttered, letting the thought linger.
Lyna tuned in further, pausing and then continuing with a grounded tone. “What’s interesting is that I’m feeling this magnetized energy from you, but it’s still humble, it’s grounded. The more you do your inner work, the more grounded you’ll become. I see you with your head down, focused on doing the work, and then when you look up, you’ll realize that people have been drawn to you. You might not even notice it at first, but they’ll sense your gifts, your self-awareness and your ability to navigate your own journey.”
She took a breath and added thoughtfully, “As this happens, it’ll be important to set really clear boundaries for yourself. If more people are drawn to you, if more energy is coming your way, get clear on what you want to share with others and what you don’t. You can choose what feels aligned for you. The more we do our own inner work, the better we get at discerning what is ours to process and what belongs to someone else. It’s about recognizing, ‘Hey, I’ve done my own work, so I can see something in you that’s familiar to me, but it’s not mine to carry. That’s your energy, your journey, not mine.’”
She paused to let the words sink in before considering another insight. “It feels like this might even explain part of why you tend to be reclusive. When you’re alone, it’s easier to contain your energy, it’s yours and yours alone. But when you’re around others, their energy can bleed into yours, and that might feel overwhelming or draining. So grounding practices are going to be crucial for you.”
“What kind of grounding practices?” Derae asked quietly.
Lyna smiled. “Simple things, like imagining roots growing from your feet or tailbone, connecting you to the earth. Spending time in nature is always powerful, stand barefoot outside, feel the sun or wind on your skin. I also use cedarwood essential oil on the bottom of my feet. Cedarwood has a grounding consciousness that helps centre your energy. You could try cedarwood or any tree-based essential oil, whatever resonates with you.”
She let the last thought linger in the air for a moment, giving Derae space to process. Slowly, a subtle shift came over him. There was something comforting in knowing that this magnetized energy, this pull he never quite understood, wasn’t something to fear, but simply a natural extension of his gifts. With the right boundaries and grounding, he could learn to embrace it, to let it unfold in its own way, as part of his growing journey inward and outward.
“And on the bottom of your feet,” Lyna explained, “that’s your connection to the earth. So working with that, like using cedarwood oil or grounding techniques, is really helpful. I think right now it’s less about focusing on boundaries and more about planting the seed, the idea that the more inner work you do, the more grounding is going to become important.”
“Yeah,” Derae affirmed softly.
“Do you have any kind of grounding practice right now?” Lyna asked, her voice gentle.
“Yes, sometimes I do that kind of meditation,” Derae began, “projecting my energy to the centre of the earth. Every day I walk my dogs in nature, twice a day at least. I also have a tree in my backyard, and I really like to put my hand on it, it feels calming. Sometimes I walk barefoot outside in the garden too. I also practice a bit of bioenergetics. You know, there’s that grounding pose, and I usually incorporate that as well.”
“Okay, great,” Lyna said with encouragement.
“Some days I’m more disciplined, sometimes less,” Derae admitted, “but I try to keep at it.”
“That sounds like a really great practice,” Lyna said warmly. “Keep it up. Especially as you keep delayering and opening up more, and that’s going to happen naturally, the grounding becomes even more vital for keeping yourself balanced.”
Derae hesitated before adding, “But now that you mention all of this, I think one of my big battles is that I try too hard. I push to open myself up, and I think that’s actually causing a block.”
Lyna’s gaze softened. “That makes so much sense,” she said. “There’s already so much information coming into you, naturally, that you might not even acknowledge it because it feels so easy. It’s those gifts we sometimes take for granted, what other people might struggle to cultivate, to you, it’s just there. And when we see the biggest, tallest, most ancient trees, remember, they also have the deepest root systems, right? Their strength comes from their foundation.”
“Yeah,” Derae said quietly, letting that image settle in.
“It’s tempting,” Lyna continued, “to be so open up top, wide open in our crown, connected, up and out, disassociating into that lightness. Because it feels wonderful to connect to the other side. But we’re here for a reason, in this physical body, on this earth. We’re meant to be in balance, connected not just to the sky but also to the earth. The more we ground, the more firmly we root ourselves in this world, the more we’re able to process emotions, work through challenges, and strengthen our connection to our root and sacral chakras. And, by contrast, the higher we’re able to expand.”
Derae’s eyes lit up with recognition. “You know,” he said, “I read something not long ago… someone said, ‘If you want to go high, go down. The more down you go, the higher you can go.’ It feels like what you’re saying, that grounding brings balance to the energy.”
“Exactly,” Lyna confirmed. “It’s about grounding that energy in a way that supports expansion upward. Without the foundation, we can’t grow as high or as wide.”
Derae hesitated, his voice quieter now. “But you know, sometimes… I get flashes, just quick flashes of something. And I don’t know… It’s something I want a lot, you know? To have those experiences, to know more. But when they come, there’s this fear. It’s like something just holds me back. I don’t understand it. That fear, it’s really weird, and I don’t know what to make of it.”
Lyna leaned in gently, her tone calm and assuring. “It’s completely natural to feel fear when stepping into something new, especially something that’s connected to your deeper gifts. That fear often comes from the part of us, the ego, that resists the unknown because it wants to keep us safe. It’s that same mechanism that prefers the comfort of what’s familiar, even if what’s familiar is holding us back. But the fear is also a sign that you’re on the brink of something bigger, something transformative, and your job is not necessarily to get rid of the fear, but to move through it. Acknowledge it, gently, and let yourself move forward anyway.”
Derae let her words settle, a small breath escaping his lips. This was beginning to make sense, the flashes, the longing, and the hesitation. It was all part of his journey, one step at a time. The grounding, the flashes, the fear, they were all connected, all tools guiding him toward a deeper understanding of himself, his gifts, and his purpose.
Lyna leaned forward, her voice gentle but encouraging. “Next time it happens, try to see it coming and notice what’s happening within you. Okay, yeah, you feel the fear. This is unknown, this is maybe unusual, this is different. But just for a second, try to lean into it. Or just for a moment, pretend that it’s okay, and see if you get any more information.”
“You know, it’s like…” Derae’s voice grew thoughtful, “it’s a moment that you really can go a little bit higher in your vibration.”
“Yeah,” Lyna affirmed softly.
“And then, it’s normal…” Derae continued, his understanding deepening as he spoke. “You go to a higher vibration, so it’s normal you get other things, but it’s like you have that reaction and then your vibration drops and then…” He trailed off, the pattern becoming clearer to him even as he described it.
The conversation revealed a delicate dance between expansion and contraction, between reaching for the light and pulling back from its intensity. Derae’s experiences with these moments of heightened awareness, these fields of stars and flashes of light, weren’t just random occurrences, but glimpses into higher states of consciousness. His instinctive pullback wasn’t necessarily a failure, but rather a natural response to encountering something beyond his usual experience.
The key, as Lyna suggested, wasn’t to force past the fear or judge himself for the reaction, but to gradually build trust with these experiences. To acknowledge the fear while maintaining enough curiosity to stay with the experience just a moment longer each time. Like learning to look at the sun, not directly and all at once, but in gentle increments, allowing his spiritual eyes to adjust to the brightness of these new dimensions of awareness.
“So even if it’s just for a moment,” Lyna began, her voice steady and reassuring, “tell yourself, I’m okay. Let’s sit here for a moment. It gives you an out, like, I don’t have to stay here if I’m uncomfortable, if it’s scary, if I’m feeling fear. You don’t have to force yourself to stay, but just try to pause for a second. And over time, it becomes easier to linger in those moments. It’s also really important to have boundaries, not just with people, but energetically, with spirits, light beings, or anything else you’re connecting to. Make it clear: I’ll only connect with high-vibrational beings in the high service of love. That way, if something comes in, you don’t have to wonder, Are you good or bad? You’ll trust that what comes to you is safe.”
Derae nodded slowly, reflecting. “No, but I don’t have that feeling, not fear, I mean. So that’s why I don’t even know if it’s fear or maybe something else. I just don’t know. Maybe I just can’t hold that vibration yet… like I can’t keep it steady. Maybe that’s what it is. I don’t know. I really don’t.”
Lyna offered a knowing smile. “Maybe. Instead of feeling surprised by it, just for a moment lean in, and see what happens.”
“Yeah,” Derae said pensively. “That’s what I’m missing. That… that allowing. That surrender. Letting it happen, you know? “
“And also giving yourself permission,” Lyna added gently. “I’m giving myself permission to be at this higher vibration, even if it’s just for a moment. It’s like building up a tolerance for it. Telling yourself: I’m supposed to be here. I’m worthy of this.”
Derae hesitated, then spoke with quiet vulnerability. “But do you think that maybe… instead of forcing it so much or trying so hard to look for it, it’s just about letting it happen naturally?”
Lyna paused, considering his words. “I mean… yes and no. I wouldn’t say there’s just one answer.”
“Yeah,” Derae agreed softly. He was beginning to see the duality in her explanation.
“Need,” Lyna said thoughtfully, “can be one of the biggest blocks we create for ourselves. When we feel like we have to get an answer, when we focus too much on ‘figuring it out’, that need can actually block what’s trying to come through. Sometimes it’s about stepping into exploration, letting go of control, and trusting that what needs to come, will. But… I also don’t think there’s only one approach to this. Sometimes, having laser focus, knowing exactly what you’re calling in and what you’re looking for, can be incredibly helpful. And other times, surrendering completely, letting it wash over you like water, can be exactly what you need.”
She smiled, tilting her head slightly. “It’s about learning what kind of internal season you’re in right now. Are you in a season of seeking, with intention and focus? Or are you in a season of stillness, trusting that everything will unfold naturally? There’s no ‘right’ way, just understanding where you are and what resonates most in the moment.”
Derae slowly exhaled, letting her words sink in. He didn’t have to chase. He didn’t have to flee. A deeper reality was unfolding, but this wasn’t a race or a test. It was about balance, between surrender and search, between rootedness and expansion. As he stepped forward on this journey, he would remind himself that he was, indeed, worthy. Worthy of these experiences. Worthy of holding the light. Worthy of the gifts unfolding within him. And with that, he would simply allow. Allow the flashes. Allow the fear, if it was there. And allow himself to lean just a little further into the unknown.
“Yeah,” Derae acknowledged softly.
“Which,” Lyna said, giving an ironic little smile, “is ultimately about surrendering to what you need. So, yeah, surrender.”
“Yeah,” Derae responded with a faint nod.
“Let’s go into the body scan,” Lyna continued, shifting the focus. “Okay, so we’re in your sacral chakra now. Let me see… one sec… Yeah, we’re working in your reproductive organs. Let me focus more, left or right? It’s more on the left side.” She paused briefly, carefully tuning into the energy. “So, your sacral chakra, are you familiar with the chakras?”
“Yes,” Derae said quietly.
“Okay, so the sacral chakra, this is the energy of creativity, emotions, relationships, and duality. Interestingly enough, what they’re showing me right now feels connected to the root chakra. The root represents oneness, security, and foundation, and they’re emphasizing oneness for you right now.”
She paused, giving space for the thought to settle. “So, the progression from the root to the sacral chakra brings an important learning, we realize that we are our own person, but with that, we also experience relationships, emotions, duality, and feelings. And for you…” she hesitated for a moment, concentrating. “It keeps coming back to boundaries.”
Lyna’s tone shifted as she described the vision she was receiving. “They keep showing me you and another person, like a placeholder of a person. What’s interesting is that usually, energy from the root chakra moves upward into the sacral, but for you, it’s the other way around. Energy from your sacral chakra is flowing downward into the root. It’s almost like you’re not fully trusting your own intuition, or maybe… it could be about boundaries again. It feels easier for you to guard your energy on your own rather than letting other people’s energy affect you, because there’s this tendency of measuring or picking up on other people’s energy.”
She looked up at him, her voice calm but curious. “Do you find that, especially in romantic relationships, this pattern shows up? What they’re showing me is…” She paused to gather her thoughts. “It’s like you’re an island. For you to feel safe, you seem to want another person’s energy enveloping you completely, but at the same time, you don’t let your own energy flow into them. It creates this dynamic where you feel most comfortable initially when someone surrounds you with their energy. But over time, you look around and realize they’re all the way around you, and you’ve built these walls to keep your energy from connecting with theirs. Does that make sense?”
Derae’s eyes lit up with recognition. “Exactly,” he responded emphatically. “That’s one of the best descriptions I’ve ever heard. Very good.”
“Okay,” Lyna smiled, encouraged by his response. “So, let’s explore this a bit more. There’s that initial comfort in it, like it feels safe or cozy at first. But over time, those walls come up, and it creates distance. Let’s ask what this is really about.” She paused, focusing inward for a moment. “I’m seeing that there’s some inner-child work we could do related to this. Let me see if we can dig deeper into the emotional roots here.”
She tilted her head slightly, listening to what was coming through. “I’m picking up on feelings of abandonment. There’s loneliness associated with it, but that’s tied closely to abandonment. And beyond that, there’s a sense of powerlessness. Do you remember anything in your childhood, any situations where you felt abandoned? Not so much rejected but abandoned. Like it wasn’t safe to allow a connection, to open up, or to trust that someone would stay?”
Derae’s face softened slightly, as if something stirred within him. He didn’t answer right away, but his silence carried the weight of someone searching through layers of memory and emotion. This was not an easy question, but it was the kind that planted seeds, creating space for deeper self-awareness and healing.
“No, well…” Derae began hesitantly, memories surfacing. “When I was young, now as you’re speaking about it, an image comes to my head. Yeah, when I was young, my parents would often go out and leave me with my grandmother. And even though I had a good relationship with my grandma, I really didn’t like that they left me.” He paused, his voice growing more sombre. “And it was also difficult with my father. We never had a good relationship. He was… he was violent toward my mother. I would wake up many times during the night to him beating her. With me, he was also a bit violent. So maybe… I think it has to do with that side of things.”
“Yeah,” Lyna said gently. “Were there… was it maybe not always bad? Were there times that…”
“No, when I was younger, times were okay,” Derae interrupted, his voice carrying a weight of understanding. “But you know, the more you grow up, these situations with my mother… then you start to understand a little bit about life and things. And then you get this disappointment because you start to understand who he really is.” His voice caught slightly. “I don’t know for a girl, but I think for a boy, you know, the father is like that superhero. But then when you really start to understand life and parents, you realize it’s just a joke, he’s not a superhero. Then… yeah, probably yes. I don’t know. I don’t know.”
Lyna nodded slowly, processing what she was sensing. “Yeah, what I’m getting is that this pattern of you being an island, with people coming in, it’s because you want safety and shelter, but that person you’re trying to emotionally detach from is also your security, also your… yeah, superhero. Your source of confidence, maybe, as a boy. So it creates such a push-pull dynamic, right? It’s like, ‘You’re not safe, but you’re also my source of confidence.'”
She leaned forward slightly. “And you’re still in that holding pattern of outsourcing this confidence, this comfort, this validation of ‘I’m a good boy,’ until you realize that’s not true, or it doesn’t feel good, or it’s actually not what you want. It’s like you want that initial hit of ‘Yeah, I am good,’ but then it’s almost like you don’t trust it. Which started as ‘I don’t trust him,’ but now it’s ‘I don’t trust me.’ And that internal trust is also the connection with your intuition, not allowing it to flow freely.” She paused, noticing his expression. “What were you going to say? I saw something on the tip of your tongue.”
“No, no,” Derae said quietly.
“Okay, let’s keep going with it. One sec,” Lyna said, tuning in. “Yeah, your inner-child wants to come in now. So, if I can get you to close your eyes, and I’ll get you to call in your inner child just in your mind’s eye. Just call him in. Let me know when you feel like he’s come into the room with you.”
“And how I know that he’ll be in the room with me?” Derae asked softly.
“It depends how you receive information,” Lyna explained. “You might just feel like he’s there. We can even just pretend if you have a hard time connecting. Maybe you see him in your mind’s eye, maybe you hear him say ‘I’m here.’ It could be just a sensation in your body.”
The room grew quiet as Derae closed his eyes, beginning the delicate process of connecting with his younger self, that part of him that still carried the weight of those nights, those departures, those shattered illusions of superhero fathers and perfect safety. This was sacred work, meeting that wounded boy where he lived, in the shadows of memory and emotion.
“Well, I can imagine an image from myself as a little boy,” Derae said softly.
“Okay,” Lyna responded. “We’re just going to thank him for coming in right now and let him know that he’s safe. And then we just have a few questions for him.” She paused, focusing inward. “Yeah, when I’m connecting, I’m getting the same kind of image of… it’s like one foot in, one foot out. Where it’s like, ‘I’m strong and confident and can be out in the world,’ but no, I don’t fully trust myself. I need… Almost like your dad didn’t teach you to step into your manhood of trusting yourself,” Lyna continued thoughtfully. “Which is interesting because trusting yourself and intuition is more the feminine side of us, which actually makes sense because you were on the left side when I was feeling into your sacral. But it was like your dad didn’t teach you to… yeah, do that in a safe manner. Or maybe it’s that you had this fear of ‘If I fully step in, then I’m going to be like my dad, I’m going to be harmful or destructive.’ Does that resonate at all?”
“Well, he is really the example of who I don’t want to be,” Derae said firmly.
“Yeah, yeah,” Lyna acknowledged.
“But so, my… my intuition is… is more on my masculine side?” Derae questioned.
“It’s interesting,” Lyna explained. “For you, I mean, in general, the feminine, the left side is the intuition, is creativity, is the internal world. But for you, it’s almost like without having the masculine, which is like the hand of support and loyalty and structure, your intuition can’t fully open up. It’s like your intuition is there, but it just doesn’t have that support system of the full divine masculine there to hold it, if that makes sense.”
She leaned forward, her voice growing more intense. “But what they’re showing me is that as humans, we have the full range of all emotions. And when we deny parts of ourselves, such as ‘I can be powerful,’ or even at the very beginning when I was talking about the hunter, it’s like we’re cutting ourselves off from wholeness. You can embody that dominance, that really strong masculine energy, but still be safe, still trust yourself.”
“You can be confident and powerful while still being… yeah, safe,” she continued. “And right now within you, it’s like you don’t trust your own… it’s almost like this fear of ‘If I pop that cap off, if it just opens… I can never put that cap back on. Like, I won’t have control of it.’ So, by denying this power that’s in this bottle, if we can use that metaphor of a cap coming off, you’ve kind of… yeah, separated yourself. You’re still separated from when you were a boy. From trusting other people, from knowing ‘I can stand up in my own space, in my own confidence in connecting with others in a way that is mutually beneficial for everyone.’ But it’s contained. You don’t trust it.”
She paused, studying his reaction. “Is there a point in relationships where you open yourself up just enough so they’re coming in, just enough so you have that island around you, so you have that hit of coziness, of comfort, but then it’s like you just can’t open yourself up anymore?”
The metaphor of the bottle with its cap, of contained power and the fear of releasing it, hung in the air between them. It spoke to the complex dance between masculine and feminine energies within him, the struggle to integrate power with safety, strength with vulnerability. His father’s shadow loomed large over this internal landscape, creating a careful choreography of approach and retreat in his relationships, both with others and with his own power.
“Yeah,” Derae acknowledged. “You said it all. There’s this enthusiasm in the beginning, you know, and I don’t know… I think this is unconscious. And then comes the moment when it’s normal, when the other person wants… yeah, also wants more. Wants more, you know, and… yeah, then… I cannot open.'”
“Yeah, yeah,” Lyna responded thoughtfully. “And it’s interesting because it’s not that you’re not open to love, it’s that you’re not open to the power within you, which is very interesting.”
“You find it very interesting?” Derae asked.
“It is interesting because I love that you are still open to love,” Lyna affirmed.
“Because that is often some people’s thorn in their side. It’s a very difficult thing to overcome. But you have that so naturally within yourself, which is really a gift. It’s the power within you, that confidence, that ability to not trust your dad, that is the thorn in your side.” She paused thoughtfully. “Which is, in some ways, when we do inner child work, easier to overcome because when we do inner child work, you, now, the adult, are the parent to your inner child. So, we don’t go in to change what happened in the past. But you go in as a parent to nurture that little boy, to show him that he is loved and wanted and desired and can be powerful and how he can be safe to express all these heavier masculine traits.”
She continued, “But you just need to teach him that. And I’ll help you through this. It just takes time; it takes repetition of you doing that. It’s almost like, you know, at the beginning I was saying it’s easier to use people as mirrors to process what’s going on. It’s also easier to use your inner child, it’s easier to give love or tell someone else something than it is just to tell ourselves. But your inner child is you. So, anything you do with your inner child, you’re actually nurturing yourself.”
“So, I’m just going to ask your inner child what he needs here, how we can get away from this one-foot in, one-foot out situation,” Lyna said. “Do you have hobbies or things where you can get your aggression out?”
“No, not really,” Derae admitted.
“I think that would be really helpful for you to find something like sports.” Lyna began.
“I have to go deep in bioenergetics,” Derae interrupted. “Bioenergetics… I think one of the exercises is you get like a big… not a bed, but it’s like a big… Like a big pillow, but you know, something big. And you have like a baston. And every day in the morning you must hit it like 300 times. Like… yeah, something like that.”
“I mean, sure, why not? Or like, get a punching bag,” Lyna suggested.
“Or get a punching bag. Yeah, exactly,” Derae replied, a faint smile on his face. “It was funny because not long ago, I thought one day I have to buy a punching bag. But you know, I’m not into violence or things like that. But I thought about it, and then it was like… ‘Well, it’s good sometimes to put things out.'”
“Yeah, yeah, exactly,” Lyna said encouragingly. “I think it’s about reteaching yourself that it’s okay to have aggression, that it’s safe to have aggression. It’s part of life, not just a man’s life, but a woman’s life, everyone’s life. We all have aggression, we all have anger, we all have these domineering aspects to us. But the key is to release them in a safe way. A way that isn’t going to hurt anyone, that isn’t about keeping it bottled up inside. It needs to come out. You need to trust your own power within yourself. And that includes using your aggression in a healthy way.”
As she spoke, Lyna tuned into his inner child. “Right now,” she said softly, “what he’s showing me is like his back turned, kind of like he’s hiding or retreating into himself. This is really interesting.” She paused, focusing inward. “Let me know how this lands, when I asked what your inner child needed, the suggestion of boxing came up. How would you feel about doing boxing lessons or something similar?”
“I don’t know… I never thought about it,” Derae mused. Then, after a moment, he shook his head. “No, boxing lessons, no. That’s not me.”
“Okay,” Lyna responded gently, adjusting to his response. “Because the way your inner child is showing up is as though he’s learning, stepping into something new.”
“Maybe karate. Karate or something like that,” Derae said thoughtfully. “But not boxing. I don’t find it appealing. Maybe kickboxing or something like that.”
“I think your inner child would really like that. So, let’s try this, if you close your eyes and imagine your inner child doing karate, imagine him being in his own power. Feeling his strength. Feeling the energy, like testosterone moving through his body, not as a man, but as a boy. Reconnecting with that masculine energy and knowing it’s safe. Having a safe outlet for it. If you can picture that, if you can witness it for him, take a moment to do that now.”
“Yeah,” Derae said softly, his eyes closed, nodding slightly as he pictured the scene.
“Good,” Lyna said. “Now, let’s take it a step further. I want you to imagine yourself beside him, doing karate alongside him. Be that father figure for him, the one who teaches him how to safely express this masculine energy. Let him learn from you. Speak to him, in whatever words feel right. Let him know it’s safe to express anger. It’s safe to have aggression. It’s safe to have an outlet for it that doesn’t hurt anyone. That he can have strong confidence in himself while still knowing when and how to channel that energy appropriately. Like a filter, letting that confidence and power flow when it’s needed, but also knowing when it’s not.”
Derae took a deep breath and exhaled, his face softening as he embraced the visualization. “Yeah,” he murmured. “A safe outlet. Yeah.”
“Exactly,” Lyna said warmly. “That’s the key. A safe outlet and trust in yourself to guide that energy. You’re not just showing your inner-child how to do this, you’re teaching yourself that it’s okay, that you can hold this power and still be safe, still be in control. Over time, this practice will begin to shift things for you, both within yourself and in how you show up in your relationships.”
The connection deepened as Derae took those first steps toward acknowledging and embracing his power. The process of healing, of nurturing his inner child, and of trusting his masculine energy had begun. Here, with martial art as a metaphor and a practice, he was stepping into his own strength, both safely and confidently. The journey continued.
“Okay,” Lyna said warmly. “Just keep staying with this idea of power.” She paused, allowing the word to settle. “What that means is, this is something I definitely recommend continuing in the coming weeks, months, however long it takes, to keep connecting with your inner child. Continue to support him and let him know that he’s loved, that he’s safe to express himself. And as you do that, this power that’s been bottled up inside you, it’s going to start coming out. Don’t be afraid of it, okay? Because you’ve already learned what you don’t want to be. It’s not going to be harmful to others.”
“No, no, of course not,” Derae replied firmly. “It’s not even a question of knowing who I want to be. I know who I am. And, thankfully, I think I lean much more to my mother’s side. You know, I think I got much more from her than from him.”
“But,” Lyna said, leaning into the moment, “open yourself up to your father’s side, too. Without opening to his ways. Know that you can embody that power, that confidence, that strong masculine energy, but without it harming others.”
“Yeah,” Derae murmured in agreement.
“I’m just getting this sense,” Lyna continued, “of something in your heart space, in your chest. It’s like this fire burning there, this growing power, this confidence. Let it grow. It’s going to keep growing. And just know that it’s safe, okay?”
“Yeah,” Derae said quietly, taking it in.
“I was going to ask your inner child what he needs next, one second,” Lyna said, letting the energy flow. “Yeah, and I mean, any physical movement, so even if you’re just walking your dogs, or if you, I don’t know, lift weights or do anything like that, I think it would be really helpful if you set the intention for your inner child to join you. For example, walking your dogs, you could hold this idea in your mind: ‘I’m calling in my inner child. He’s coming in, and we’re together.’ It’s all about reparenting him, having you be with him so often, in your confidence, and as your confidence builds, he’s learning that it’s safe to be confident too. It’s safe to step into his power.”
Lyna paused, letting the guidance resonate. “This will also help with the fear of abandonment we talked about earlier. That fear might come up again, but when it does, just comfort your inner child. Snuggle with him, hold him, remind him that he’s safe and loved, and tell him what he needs to hear. When those triggers of abandonment arise, remember, they’re only coming up so that you can work through them and get to the next layer.”
She made a point to emphasize the progress. “It’s actually a good sign. It means you’re growing. You’re not moving backward, it’s the opposite. You’re moving forward. Every trigger is an opportunity to work through the past and rise to the next level.”
Returning to Derae’s energy, Lyna touched on what she was sensing. “Just going back to the sacral space for a moment, it feels like your right side is all clear now. There’s just a little more tension on your left. Let’s see what we can do there.”
She paused before continuing. “I keep coming back to the idea of power. Do you feel, now or maybe unconsciously, like it’s not safe for you to be fully outspoken, confident, or embody a strong, energetic male presence? Like, if you were fully stepping into that, would it feel safe to you? Because this idea of power keeps coming in. How do you feel about having power over other people?”
Derae paused, reflecting. “Having power… well, I don’t know. You know, if, if I can influence… not influence, but advise people, or if I see that I can give advice that moves people in a better way, yeah, yeah, I’m like that. Especially with my sister and my niece, I’m a little like that, you know?”
“Well,” Lyna began, “maybe it’s just this validation that you’re already using that aspect of you, that power, in a positive way. So, it’s like, let’s just grow that more. It’s not all bad.” She paused, focusing inward. “Let me just go back to that left side, though. There’s still something connected to your dad. Okay, we’re going to do a little ancestral thing, still with your inner-child.”
She gently laid out the next steps. “So, if you’re okay with it, what’s going to happen is we’ll collect all these emotions, betrayal feels like one of them, but there might be others as well. As you inventory your body, we’re going to gather those emotions, and then we’ll imagine your dad in front of you. You’ll pass those energies to him, and then he’ll give you something in return. This process is about releasing these burdens that you’ve consciously or unconsciously been holding onto since childhood in relation to your dad. How do you feel about that?”
“Yeah,” Derae agreed, ready to proceed.
“So,” Lyna said reassuringly, “I’ll get you to imagine your inner child there with you. Either work through this with him, with your own body, or even both. Begin doing this inventory of any emotions connected to your dad that you’ve been holding onto but haven’t fully processed. Betrayal is definitely one that came up, along with abandonment. But if there’s anything else—shame, sadness, loss of power, unworthiness, or anything else, just collect it. Gather it all together. Let me know when you’ve collected it.”
“Yeah,” Derae said after a moment, signalling he was ready.
“Okay,” Lyna continued. “Let’s put a colour on it. What colour would that collection of stuff be?”
“Black,” Derae said decisively.
“Yeah,” Lyna acknowledged. “And just before we pass it off, let’s do one more quick survey. Is there any other blackness in your body or your inner child’s body to pull out? There might not be, just double-checking.”
After another brief pause, Derae indicated he was ready.
“Okay,” Lyna said. “Now imagine your dad in front of you. Is he still Earthside?”
“Still alive,” Derae confirmed.
“That’s okay,” Lyna assured him. “We can still do this with his soul. So just picture him in front of you, and you’re going to pass this black energy, this ball of emotions, to him. And as you do that, there are some words to say…”
She hesitated briefly, tuning into the energy. “Actually, what they’re showing me is your dad, but it’s also his paternal line. This burden, this energy, is something that’s been passed down through generations. So, while you visualize your dad, also imagine your grandpa, your great-grandpa, as far back as you can. Pass the ball to them, and speak these words, or use your own: ‘This is no longer mine to carry. It was yours before it was mine.'”
She paused, observing. “The betrayal feels really strong right now. Does that energy ring true for you, betrayal?”
“Yeah,” Derae said, quietly affirming.
As Derae prepared to relinquish the emotional burdens tied to his father and the paternal line, an ancient weight began to surface, ready to be acknowledged and released. By passing the dark energy back to its origins, he took a transformative step toward freeing himself, and his inner child, from the generational wounds that had shaped their shared story. This moment of unburdening was not just about letting go; it was about reclaiming the power and space within himself that had been overshadowed by these inherited pains.
“Okay,” Lyna began gently. “So, if there’s anything specific you want to say about betrayal, to your dad, or to your dad’s line, take a moment now to speak to them. Tell them, ‘I’m giving this back. This isn’t mine to carry anymore. It’s not my responsibility. I’m taking my power back.’” Her voice softened as she continued, “And when you’re ready, let me know that you’ve said everything you need to say. We’ll move to the next step.”
After a few moments, Derae added, “I said exactly that, I’m breaking the pattern. Breaking the cycle.”
Lyna smiled. “Okay, perfect. And your ancestors, especially those before your dad, are so grateful for you. They’re honoured. They’re proud of you for doing this work. They willingly take it back. This is for them to process, not you. And in return…” Her energy shifted slightly. “I see them giving you a ball of energy. I see it as gold, but you can choose whatever colour feels right to you. This ball of love, of pure, uncorrupted power. It’s a gift to you, filled with a deep knowing of who you are, strong boundaries, and loyalty. It’s this harmonized, beautiful energy.”
She paused briefly before continuing, “The energy I’m sensing is pride, they’re so proud of you, so grateful to you for doing this work.”
Derae exhaled deeply as he visualized their gift.
“Now imagine that energy entering your field,” Lyna guided. “We’re going to integrate it into your body. They’re showing me the top of the head, moving downward, but whatever feels right to you will work. Let’s get this energy fully into your body. Imagine it filling every part of you, from your head all the way down to your feet, replacing everything you released. Let me know when you feel that integration is complete.”
“Yeah,” Derae affirmed softly.
“Okay,” Lyna said warmly. “And let’s add an extra layer of protection, imagine this golden energy sealing around you like a shield to hold all this in. How are you feeling right now?”
“A little bit emotional,” Derae admitted, his voice trembling slightly.
“Yeah,” Lyna acknowledged with understanding. “Let those tears flow if they need to. If not now, then later, after we finish the call. Allow that energy to process through. What you’re doing here isn’t just for you, it’s for your entire ancestral line. This is heavy, deep work, and it’s completely okay to feel emotional about it. You’re healing something that’s been carried for generations.”
A brief silence followed as Lyna allowed space for Derae’s emotions to settle. Then she continued, “I’m sensing that this anger you’ve spoken about, this sense of betrayal, it’s part of a very old lineage. It comes from generations before you, from a lack of being taught how to process emotions, how to develop emotional intelligence. So, your work now, with your inner child, is about changing that. It’s about teaching him, and yourself, how to expand emotional intelligence, how to process both the good and the bad emotions that come up. It’s not just about releasing negative emotions. Sometimes even the good ones can get stuck, too.”
She paused, letting those words settle. “And as you work with him, remind him that it’s safe to process all of these things. That neither the good emotions nor the bad ones define who he is. They’re simply part of how we make sense of the world.”
“Yeah,” Derae said, his voice steadying.
“How are you feeling?” Lyna asked softly.
“Okay,” Derae replied, his voice calm and steady now, but with an undertone of reflection.
This session had taken a profound turn, reaching deep into the patterns of pain, anger, and betrayal that had been carried through generations. Through the exercise of visualization and release, Derae had not only begun the process of unburdening himself but also taken the first courageous steps in breaking a cycle passed down through his paternal line. This wasn’t just a moment of personal healing, it was a transformation for his ancestors, for his inner child, and for the legacy he would carry and pass on. The integration of the golden energy marked a shift, a reclamation of love, power, and identity untainted by the hurt of the past. Now, with his inner child as his guide and companion, Derae was prepared to move forward, forging a new path of emotional awareness and growth.
“I’m just going to check in with your inner child one more time,” Lyna said, pausing briefly. “Do you do any gardening? Do you have a garden?”
“I have one,” Derae replied, “but I like to keep it as natural as possible.”
“Okay,” Lyna nodded thoughtfully. “I’m seeing him playing in a garden. I don’t know if you can get your hands in the dirt, maybe it’s more of a grounding practice than anything else. But I’m seeing him there, yeah, in a garden.”
“If you can get into your garden yourself, if you can play in the dirt… I don’t know, I think it would be good for you.”
“Yeah,” Derae agreed.
“Bring you back to childhood,” she added softly.
“Yeah,” he repeated, contemplating the idea.
Lyna probed gently, “Do you remember gardening with your mom or your grandma or something?”
“No,” Derae explained. “We lived in an apartment, so no gardening for us.”
“Well,” Lyna continued, “take it for what it is, it might make more sense another day, but something about having your hands in dirt would be very good for you. And if you ever find yourself in that situation, your inner child would definitely like to be part of that experience.”
She shifted her focus back to his energy. “Just checking your sacral again… everything looks good on my end. They’re reminding me to tell you that the practice we did today, taking that black energy and passing it to your ancestors, you cleared one layer today. But as you continue your inner journey, if you feel those things coming up again, if you find yourself at a new layer, you can redo this practice yourself. You know how to do it now.”
“Yeah,” Derae acknowledged.
“They’re just saying that eventually, no timeline on when, it could be ten years down the road or it could be next week, who knows, but a new layer will emerge. Today looks really great but be prepared for that possibility.” She paused. “Do you have any questions before we close? Everything in your sacral is looking good.”
The session was drawing to a close, but the image of the garden remained, a symbol of growth, of getting one’s hands dirty in the work of healing, of connecting with the earth and with one’s own inner child. Even though Derae hadn’t grown up with a garden, the energy suggested that connecting with the earth could be part of his healing journey forward. The layers they’d worked through today had created space for new growth, new possibilities, and new ways of being, both for his adult self and his inner child.
“No, no,” Derae said, his voice reflective.
“Yeah,” Lyna responded. “If you’re okay with it, I’d like to call in Archangel Raphael. He’s the archangel that helps with cleansing, clearing, and healing on all levels, emotional, spiritual, physical. So, we’ll get him to do a final sweep through your energy field.”
“For my ancestors, there’s no message at all or nothing like that?” Derae asked, curious.
“Nothing specific,” Lyna replied, “other than this feeling of acknowledgment. What you’ve been processing, this is something they’ve been carrying and passing down the line for a long time. No one before you have been able to process it. So, just this idea that yes, childhood was hard, but you’re here for a reason. You’re here to heal what they couldn’t, for six generations.”
“Exactly,” Derae said, his tone shifting as he made a connection. “What was told to me in the ayahuasca session was that some… the ancestors wanted me to show something… it was from six generations.”
“Wow, cool,” Lyna said, visibly moved. “So, you’re doing it. That’s why you’re here. It’s one of the reasons. You’re doing what couldn’t be done for a long time. Kudos to you. Honestly, it makes me emotional, it’s so beautiful. You’re already doing it, and this is just another layer. I can really feel… like, I want to cry. They’re very proud of you. It’s like this beam of pride, if you can imagine that, just coming in. I think you’ve been doing this work for most of your life, this is just a deeper layer.”
Derae hesitated before asking, “Maybe… can you see if it’s because of this that I was not a father? Because I really wanted to be a father, but I never got the chance.”
Lyna paused, connecting with the energy. “It feels like they’re showing me a package. It’s almost like the karmic lessons are complete. That tie, the cycle, it ends with you. You’ve completed it. How does that feel?”
“I don’t know,” Derae admitted. “A little bit sad that, you know, that generation doesn’t keep on. But on the other side… I don’t think.”
“Yeah,” Lyna said gently. “And, I mean, know that nothing is set in stone. The more we do our inner work, the greater our capacity to open new possibilities and new timelines. So, never say never.”
“No,” Derae responded firmly. “Too late now. Now I don’t want to.”
“Okay,” Lyna acknowledged. “That looks good. So, Archangel Raphael is just coming in and spending a little extra time on your left hip. He’s going through that area for some reason, I’m not sure if there’s been anything going on there. But that looks good on my end.”
She shifted smoothly into the final visualization. “Now, I want you to imagine the top of your head opening up and a sparkling golden-white light coming in through the crown, filling your entire body. This pure, unconditional consciousness, this love, this divine source energy, it’s flowing you through your head. Especially in your sacral area, your reproductive area, your lower gut, let that light fill you completely. We want to make sure that everything you’ve moved today, all that ancestral energy, is replaced with this beautiful, sparkling, golden-white light. Let me know when you feel that’s done.”
“It’s okay,” Derae said after a moment.
“Alright,” Lyna said gently. “Before we close, I always love to give thanks, to your inner child, your soul, your ancestors, even your dad’s soul, and everyone else who came in today. Gratitude for them, gratitude for you, for doing this deep ancestral work. It’s truly an honour to witness that. Thank you.” She exhaled, as if closing the energetic space. “And we’re closed for the day.”
“Yeah, well, it was great meeting you today,” Lyna said warmly.
“It was great meeting you, too,” Derae replied. “And thank you for all the help.”
“You’re so welcome,” Lyna said. “Allow that integration, because over the next few months you might find new pieces of information, new knowing’s coming in.”
“Thank you,” Derae said sincerely.
“Yeah,” Lyna smiled. “And give yourself the chance to talk to your inner child and reparent him, do all the things that came up today. It just takes a little time and consistency.”
“Yeah,” Derae said. “Consistency. I have to put some energy into that.”
“Yeah,” Lyna concluded warmly. “You take care.”
“Bye,” Derae said with gratitude. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Lyna replied. “Bye.”
As the session ended, the profound work of ancestral healing and integration left an undeniable imprint. Derae had tapped into layers of inherited pain, karmic lessons, and deep-seated emotions, bringing them to light and transforming them into something entirely new. With the guidance of Lyna, the support of Archangel Raphael, and the unwavering presence of his inner child and ancestors, he had reclaimed his power and honoured the generations before him. Now, the path ahead was his to walk, grounded, free, and glowing with the light of infinite possibility.
